For about three years from 2001, a Shutterbug Shinkansen conductor took digital photos of the control room equipment and outside scenery from the operations room in the last car. He then posted them on his own Web site.

There was a culture festival in Hama Cho, Nobeoka on November 3rd, 2005. The Kuchou (community center leader) organized two bazaars: 1. clothes and goods, and 2. fresh vegetables that were donated by the lcoal farmers. There was also an exhibition of paintings and such. The entire proceeds are to go to some victims of the last typhoon in Nobeoka.

How to ask for a date:

1. "Would your girlfriend mind if I bought you a drink?"

2. "Ask him to have coffee. It’s low-risk and almost everyone has time for coffee." "How about some coffee?"

3. "Give him a box of dates (the edible variety) and say, ‘How about a date?’"

4. Blot your lipstick on a white napkin and write, ‘Call me at…’
